She raised research entitled “A Model of Institutional Capacity Development of Farmer Groups in Improving Beef Cattle Farmers’ Independence in Gorontalo Regency.”
According to Sri, the institutional capacity development of farmer groups is one of the main components in the success of animal husbandry. However, farmer groups face various problems, namely the limited capacity of human resources.
In this case, because the institutional aspects of farmer groups are not yet developed and group dynamics are not yet optima, the availability of supporting infrastructure is minimal. So it is necessary to analyze how the factors that influence the institutional capacity of cattle farmer groups can realize the independence of beef cattle farmers.
Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors that affect the institutional capacity of beef cattle farmer groups, investigate the effect of farmer group institutional capacity on farmer independence, and formulate a model of farmer group capacity development on beef cattle farmer independence in Gorontalo Regency.
Determination of the sample in the study was carried out using a-stage sampling method multi. While The data analysis used is descriptive analysis and Equation Modeling Structural Analysis – Analysis of moment structures (AMOS) program.
The study results explain the level of institutional capacity with a scale of 3.18, consisting of indicators for achieving goals, institutional functions and roles, institutional innovation, and group institutional sustainability.
Then the level of independence is in the excellent category with a scale value of 2.87; the indicators are intellectual independence, attitude independence, management independence, and material independence.
In conclusion, the development of the institutional capacity of farmer groups cannot be separated from group dynamics that have a positive influence—farmer groups as a forum that has the potential to move members to interact and work together.
“The level of group dynamics is quite good, but the role of farmers must be more optimal in participating in the activities of the beef cattle business group.” said Sri (dta)
