Fapet UB and PT. Nestle Indonesia Implementing PKKM 

Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) is one of the faculties that passed the selection of the Merdeka Campus Competition Program (PKKM). Namely a program launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to realize the aspirations of higher education institutions and encourage the achievement of the eight Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

KPI points include (1) graduates getting a decent job by earning a salary above the minimum wage, entrepreneurship, or continuing their studies; (2) students get off-campus experiences such as internships, village projects, teaching, research, entrepreneurship, student exchange; (3) lecturers have activities outside the campus by seeking experience in industry or other campuses; (4) on-campus teaching practitioners (recruiting lecturers with industry experience); (5) the work of lecturers is used by the community or gets international recognition; (6) study programs in collaboration with world-class partners in curriculum, internships, and graduate equivalence; (7) collaborative and participatory classes; (8) international standard study program.

As a step to implement PKKM, Fapet UB cooperates with PT. Nestle Indonesia. The meeting of the two parties to discuss the programs that will be implemented in teaching and learning activities was held on Monday (14/6/2021).

Fapet UB is represented by ateam competitive fund consisting of Dr. Marjuki (chairman) and members, such as Prof. Trinil Susilawati, Prof. M. Halim Natsir, Dr. Tri Eko Susilorini, Dr. Hermanto, Rizki Prafitri, Ph.D, Dr. Nanang Febrianto, Ria Dewi A., M.Sc, and Poespitawati Hazanah Ndaru, MP While PT. Nestle Indonesia was attended by Ir. Syahrudi and Ir. Ida Royan.

The results of the discussion agreed to carry out a 3 in 1 model lecture, namely using three learning sources other than internal lecturers as well as bringing in lecturers/experts from abroad, and parties from the industrial world. It means PT. Nestle Indonesia will send expert staff who will act as guest lecturers.

 In addition, we will jointly establish a field school for Nestle-assisted breeders in Pujon Village and conduct research on legominosa plantings to reduce environmental impacts (silvo pasture).
