Independent Learning Campus Program (MBKM), set by the Minister of Education and Culture, aims to broadly develop students’ potential or talents by providing field contextual experiences to hone hard and soft skills. In addition, to produce superior graduates who are following market demands and are capable of entrepreneurship.
In response to this, the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) has increased cooperation with companies to bring students closer to the business and industrial world. One of them is the Japfa Foundation which has a “Farming Program for the Country” (BUN), which will support these efforts.
The discourse of cooperation between Fapet UB and Japfa was discussed in an online meeting, Tuesday (8/6/2021). Head of the Program, Ignatius Egan Jonatan said BUN is a mentoring program by and for millennial youth towards local farmers or ranchers to advance the Indonesian nation.
“Previously in the BUN program, we only accepted fresh graduates. However, for this batch, we will accept active students (min. 5th semester). said Egan
“So that through this program we can improve the competence of human resources (students and farmers/breeders) needed today to develop national agriculture.” he continued.
Meanwhile, Prof.Dr. M. Halim Natsir, S.Pt.,MP,IPM.,ASEAN Eng, as Deputy Dean, I explained that he would package the BUN program into MBKM. For example, giving the MK package and its credits and providing supervisors and examiners from Fapet UB and partners for groups of apprentices. (dta)
