National Education Day (Hardiknas), which falls every May 2, is commemorated by all educational institutions in Indonesia. Likewise, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) conducts an online commemoration, Sunday (2/5/2021) with the theme “Moving Simultaneously, Realizing Independent Learning in Universitas Brawijaya”.
Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Makarim through, his speech read by the Rector, Prof. Nuhfil Hanani, AR., MS explained that four efforts are being carried out to improve the education system in Indonesia.
First, improvements in infrastructure and technology, secondly improvements in policies, procedures and funding, as well as providing more autonomy for education units, thirdly improving leadership, society and culture, and improving curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment in the fourth point.
In response to this, UB, represented by the Vice Rector for Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Sasmito Djati launched the Lecturer Work (Dokar) program. The goal is to improve UB’s level at the international level. Through Dokar, it is hoped that lecturers can implement daily activities and pursue performance indicators set by the government. As well as playing a role directly following the field of science to collaborate with the community.
Besides that, as an appreciation to the faculty for their achievements and hard work in implementing Merdeka Learning, UB gave awards in several categories. Among other things, the category of increase and contribution of income, the category of student affairs, the category of the number of students in the student exchange program, the international ranking category, the category of the number of students in the awakening program, the category of the number of students involved in the independent gem, the category of the number of students involved in the campus teaching program, the category. centerof excellence, competitive fund category, category of collaborative class implementation, category of implementation of eight forms of MBKM, category of MBKM curriculum collaboration, budget absorption, category of adding the number of professors, and category of doctoral improvement program.
On that occasion, the Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Fapet) UB won second place in the category competitive fund, first place in implementing eight forms of MBKM, first place in the category of adding the number of professors, and second winner in the category of doctoral improvement program.
The reason is that in a period of two years, namely 2019-2021, Fapet has added four professors and increased 11 lecturers from the Doctoral Program (S3) level. In addition, to support the Merdeka Learning Kampus Merdeka program launched by the Minister of Education and Research and Technology, Fapet has implemented MBKM and a curriculum that refers to OBE and the Industrial revolution 4.0. This is realized by implementing certified internships, student exchanges, increasing cooperation with companies and the livestock industry in link and match and matching funds.
“Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah SWT, the Chancellor and his staff, the teaching staff and education staff of Fapet UB together work hard to make our beloved Faculty become more superior and have an international reputation,” said Prof. Suyadi as Dean (dta)
