Study Program (PS) S1 Animal Science Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) submits a proposal for the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM). Namely the transformation of government funds for higher education from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. The goal is to realize the aspirations of each university and encourage the potential achievements of the eight Main Performance Indicators (IKU).
IKU points include (1) a graduate gets a decent job by earning a salary above the UMR, doing entrepreneurship, or continuing his studies; (2) students gain experience outside the campus such as internships, village projects, teaching, research, entrepreneurship, student exchanges; (3) lecturers carry out activities outside the campus by seeking experience in other industries or campuses; (4) practitioners teaching on campus (recruiting lecturers with industry experience); (5) the work of lecturers is used by the public or gets international recognition; (6) study programs in collaboration with world-class partners in curriculum, internships, and graduate equivalency; (7) collaborative and participatory classes; (8) international standard study program.
PS S1 Animal Husbandry Faculty of Animal Husbandry is one of the study programs in UB that has succeeded in penetrating theprocessfeasibility verification(site visit). This activity was carried out by the PKKM reviewer team through online interviews, to confirm and clarify the eligibility of the program to reach eight IKUs, Saturday (24/04/2021).
Vice Dean I, Prof. Dr. M. Halim Natsir, S.Pt., MP., IPM., ASEAN Eng explained that the UB Faculty of Animal Science Undergraduate Study Program deserves to participate in PKKM. Because since 2011 the S1 Animal Science Study Programme has a development strategy, such as competing at the national level to ASIA.
“We have implemented Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka and a curriculum that refers to OBE and the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This is realized by implementing certified internships, student exchanges, increased cooperation with companies and the livestock industry in link and match and matching funds. ” he explained,
although not yet internationally accredited, Fapet UB has been certified internationally ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN QA) for undergraduate and postgraduate programs since 2016.
Then currently in the process of submitting international accreditation called Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik (ASIIN), from an international accreditation agency from Germany for the disciplines of engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture, and biology, for the Undergraduate Program. Meanwhile, the international accreditation for the Masters Program is Agency for Quality Assurance (AQAS).
