Making Group Cages for Joint Business

Research Group Red Meat Produces (RG-RMP) Animal Science Faculty of  Universitas Brawijaya (ASF UB) which was formerly known as RG Beef Cattle is still struggling to create Senggreng Village, Dusun Kecopokan Kec. Sumber Pucung becomes a beef cattle cluster. The program was sparked by the collaboration between ASF UB and Bank Indonesia Malang.

The first agenda at the beginning of 2021 is to prepare a group cage for joint ventures. As well as the arrangement of rowdy business / marobathi (profit sharing) from community-oriented investors.

The team represented by prof. Trinil Susilawati, Rizki Pafitri, Ph.D, and Dr. Kuswati coordinated with the farmer group “Wiji Kamulyan”, Tuesday (12/01/2021).

In this first stage, the breeders are provided with 20 beef cattle which are the result of credit from BRI’s Sumber Pucung branch. However, as many as 10 animals are kept in each farmer’s cage in coordination with the Wiji Kamulyan farmer group.

On the other hand, to create an area that is “Covid-Resilient”, the RG RMP team also provides skills to female beef cattle breeders in the form of making processed fish and agricultural products based food. So they can increase income for the family.

Prof. Trinil Susilawati, as the team leader, said that besides the beef cattle cluster, this area will also be used for the implementation area of ​​the results of technology that have been found by RG-RMP members in the form of research and community service activities.
