A number of four students from the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) who are candidates for apprenticeship in the beef cattle industry in Australia have passed the file selection. That is Abdul Husyain (2020), Fajar Mubarok(2020), Farah Nabila Az-Zahra(2020), Olga Gurunul Bahri Daniswara(2021).
Then they took part in the faculty level selection which consisted of written, interview and physical tests, Friday (7/7/2023). The written test was conducted in the dean’s meeting room on the 8th floor, while the interview took place in a hybrid manner inviting internship program alumni. Then the physical test is carried out in the rectorate field with the UB Student Regiment (Menwa).
This apprenticeship program is named NTCA Indonesia-Australia Pastoral Program (NIAPP). form Collaboration between the Indonesian Association of Animal Husbandry Scholars (ISPI) and the Australian breeder organization, NTCA (Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association).Implementation internship will take place during 10 weeks. The material that will be provided includes intensive herding industry training, animal welfare and handling, and experiential learning through placements on selected family and company managed cattle stations across northern Australia.
Unit Head International Relations Office (IRO) Fapet UB, Prof. V.M. Ani said This program, which has been in place since 2012, is designed to provide learning practical and hands-on, building and expanding links, and cultural exchange of the beef cattle industry between Indonesia and Northern Australia. Besides that, it is also an effort to provide international knowledge and insights in the field of animal husbandry for Indonesian animal husbandry students. (dta)
