The Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB), organized a workshop to revise its Strategic Plan (Renstra) on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Held in the Gatotkaca Room of Ijen Suite Resort and Convention, Malang, the event was attended by the Strategic Plan Team, the final task and education guideline drafting team, as well as the Faculty Academic Senate (SAF).
The workshop featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Moh. Farid Rahman, S.Si., M.Si. from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) UB, serving as the coach and facilitator for the strategic plan revision process. The revision aims to align the faculty’s policies with developments in science, industry needs, and global challenges. During the workshop, Dr. Farid provided insights and planning strategies focusing on enhancing the quality of education, research, and community service.
The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Halim Natsir, S.Pt., M.P., IPM, ASEAN Eng., Dean of Fapet UB. In his opening remarks, Prof. Halim emphasized that revising the Strategic Plan is a strategic move to maintain the faculty’s relevance in addressing global challenges. “The Strategic Plan is our guide. Through proper revision, we can optimize resources to achieve the long-term goals of the Faculty,” he stated.
“Furthermore, we hope that this workshop will strengthen Fapet UB’s commitment to becoming a leading higher education institution in the field of animal science and contributing significantly to sustainable development,” Prof. Halim concluded.
The Strategic Plan is a planning document that outlines an institution’s vision, mission, objectives, and strategies to be achieved over a specific timeframe. Its objectives include setting strategic policy directions, improving education quality, developing research and innovation, increasing contributions to community service, strengthening governance, enhancing collaboration, and fostering human resource development.
